Banff National Park

Banff Gondola

The Banff Gondola allows you to climb a peak close to Banff in both summer and winter. Four-person enclosed vehicles may reach the summit of Sulphur Mountain in less than ten minutes. This summit, which gets its name from the hot springs that rise from its base, is a must-see viewing spot and a must-do Banff attraction. There are a few eateries on top, and there’s a long boardwalk stroll to Sanson Peak, where an old weather station formerly stood.

Cave & Basin National Historic Site

These hot springs, which have been known to indigenous peoples for 10,000 years, were unintentionally found by three Canadian Pacific Railway employees on their day off in 1883, essentially creating the Canadian National Park system. The government intervened to protect the springs and prevent an environmental disaster by designating Banff as Canada’s first national park, all explored through Banff National Park tours.
